Our case counts are higher than they’ve ever been – 3 times higher than our peak in January of 2021.

And we have zero structural mitigation. No mask mandates. Our new AG has announced they’re suing the feds over the vaccine mandate. Not a single local business that I know of is asking about vaccination status, and very few are requiring masks. I’ve seen more maskless folks in this surge than in the whole damn pandemic.

I just cannot wrap my head around it.

I know the folks who *could* do things care more about the economy than they do about us. I know this.

But I don’t understand how anyone can look at what is happening and think “let’s get Covid positive folks back to work sooner in unsafe environments” as the best course of action.

How do you do that and sleep at night?
